The Obama administration is postponing a feature of the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) on federally facilitated exchanges. SHOP exchanges will launch in 2014 with an employer choice model, but an employee choice model will not be available until 2015 on federally facilitated exchanges.
Other highlights include:
- Alaska is considering changing the customary and usual rate regulation to allow higher reimbursements.
- Connecticut has approved a license for HealthyCT, a CO‑OP formed by the state’s medical society.
- Massachusetts is considering undoing the merger of the individual and small group health insurance markets.
- Washington has filed more emergency rules for open and special enrollment periods for non-grandfathered individual and small group plans.
