Poll Shows Americans Still Uncertain of Health Reform Law

A new tracking poll shows two-thirds of the uninsured are struggling to understand how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will impact them and awareness of the law’s key elements has declined somewhat since its passage.

Other highlights include:

  • Non-physician providers in California are pushing for legislation to expand their scope of practice.
  • A bill is signed into law allowing Michigan Blue Cross Blue Shield to become a nonprofit mutual insurer.
  • Minnesota legislature passes a health insurance exchange bill, which now awaits the governor’s signature.

Texas becomes the fourth state to declare it will not enforce the ACA’s market reforms.
